2 week bootcamp held /MondaysWednesdays/Fridays from 3:00-3:45PM EST starting May 1st!.

Ages 6-11 (Reading is required to be able to place coding. If a five year old really wants to join, they will most likely require a parent to attend as well)

***This class requires that students have their own Codey Rocky. While it is an investment, it will provide years of entertainment. As your child grows, so does the complexity of the coding projects that they can perform. (Even making their own video games!) There will be future bootcamps that will build on the foundation we set is this initial round. It’s also a great way to occupy your child on cold winter days. There is an link below to the Codey Rocky robot.

Most of us have heard about coding, but what is it?

Think of coding as an artificial language that humans and computers can both speak. We use this language to program our computers or robots to perform a task. In the same way a parent tells a child what they need to do, eat your food, then clean up your dish then wash up, we use this language to tell our computer what to do.

What our coding and robotics class will focus on is training the children to teach a little robot to perform different tasks. Through an easy to use app we will show them to how write sequences that program our robot to do some really amazing things! This sets a great foundation for our children to understand the concepts behind coding and prepare them to apply this amazing language to use it countless ways. This robot can provide years of challenging and fun tasks as your child grows their coding abilities. In class we will code together and the children will also be given challenges and even an opportunity to come up with their own creations and present it to the class. We are so excited to introduce your child to this important and useful skill in a really fun and engaging way!

In class we will introduce what coding is and learn key concepts such as sequences, looping, debugging and conditionals. Future bootcamps will build on these skills and tackle new challenges.
